Does garlic affect the GI EcologiX test?
We cannot ask patients to avoid medications that they are currently taking or have been asked to take by their healthcare professional.
As garlic is a natural antimicrobial compound, if possible it should be discontinued 7 days before taking the test to get a fuller profile of the microbiome.
