Why is the Urinary EcologiX not recommended for males*?
During the development of the Urinary EcologiX test, we found that urine samples from male* volunteers typically had very low microbial load. This means that it is more difficult to accurately measure the microbiota in these samples. The panel of microbial targets that we detect was also selected based on research into the female urinary microbiota, and therefore may be less relevant to male* patients.
