PHGG is normally well tolerated, but if you have a sensitive stomach, start with half a dose and build up gradually to the full dosage.

FAQs

Is this safe to compost in my home compost?

Yes – in a compost environment the pouch will break down in 26 weeks into water, co2 and biomass, just like other organic materials such as paper.  This pouch has been independently tested and accredited for eco-toxicity, disintegration, and biodegradation to known standards such as OK Compost Home, Seedling, ABA and Cré. Because the zipper is ‘Industrial’ compost certified only, this means the process may take longer than 26 weeks for this part of the pouch.

How do I dispose of my packaging?

The pouch is designed to compost completely under normal home conditions in 26 weeks.  This may vary according to conditions in your compost heap, and the zip-lock may take a little longer.  Alternatively, the zipper can be cut off and composted in council-collected food waste.

Can I use the PHGG directly out of the pouch?

You can, but bear in mind that the pouch is designed to degrade once it comes into contact with moisture and oxygen.  PHGG in an open pouch will start to absorb moisture and may clump, so we recommend decanting this into an airtight container as soon as possible after opening. Please ensure your container is completely dry before refilling and ensure that it is labelled correctly.

I’m a nutritional therapist and I often recommend this PHGG for my clients to help make bowel movements more regular and feed beneficial species in the gut. I find its really well tolerated by most people, and very easy to take as it can simply be mixed in a cup pf tea. I see great benefits when retesting client’s microbiomes after taking it.

  2. Sarah M

I love this new addition to my daily routine! Its so easy to add into my breakfast bowl and coffee and even my teenage boys don’t notice it when I stir it into their morning brekkie cereals. I’ve definitely noticed that since starting with Invivo PHGG that I’m feeling fuller for longer which is ace as I’m so busy all the time and on the go.

  3. Alexandra Gilmartin verified buyer

I purchased the PHGG for my 93yr old mother who had long term irritable bowel syndrome, and recent strong antibiotics for recurring UTI which would have wiped out her microbiome. The bowels were alternating diarrhoea and constipation and she couldn’t go out as she was stressing about her bowels. She has been on the PHGG for nearly a year now and has a healthy, daily bowel movement. She is able to travel in the car and go the the shops. She finds the powders easy to take as they dissolve well in her morning tea. It is part of her daily routine. Thank you.

  4. Farah B

I’m particularly impressed by the versatility and science-backed benefits of Bio.Me Prebio PHGG. This is a water-soluble prebiotic fibre derived from guar seed (partially hydrolysed guar gum) that supports microbial diversity and digestive function and suitable for all the family.

  5. Vivienne Wallace verified buyer

I have been using PHGG powder for a few months now. It dissolves very quickly into my morning glass of hot water and I really believe it is helping with my long term bowel problems. I also like the refillable pouch for my tin.
