Low-FODMAP, water-soluble prebiotic fibre to support microbial diversity

Nutritional Information

Ingredients: Sunfiber® AG (Partially Hydrolysed Guar Gum) 5g

Key Benefits

A soluble source of prebiotic fibre for both constipation and diarrhoea
Derived from guar beans, PHGG is a convenient source of vegan dietary fibre.

Highly soluble – mix into any drink
Our new improved formula is three times less dense and can dissolve into any drink hot or cold, without clumping.

Rebalances the gut and increases microbial diversity
Selectively feeds gut microbiota (Bifidobacterium and other SCFA producing bacteria) to rebalance the gut microbiome and increase diversity.

A heat-stable prebiotic
PHGG is a heat-stable prebiotic that can be baked into foods, added into stovetop meals and smoothies or added to your morning cup of coffee or tea.

Directions For Use

Mix 5g (3 tsp) daily into beverage of choice (hot or cold) or add to food.
Do not exceed the recommended dose, unless advised by your healthcare professional.

Suitable from 6 months

PHGG is normally well tolerated, but if you have a sensitive stomach, start with half a dose and build up gradually to the full dosage.

PHGG has been consumed by pregnant and lactating women for years, and it has been shown to be a safe way to improve regularity and reduce cramping and bloating. As with any supplement, however, please consult with your health care practitioner prior to use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

FAQs

Why has the formula changed?

Yes – in a compost environment the pouch will break down in 26 weeks into water, co2 and biomass, just like other organic materials such as paper.  This pouch has been independently tested and accredited for eco-toxicity, disintegration, and biodegradation to known standards such as OK Compost Home, Seedling, ABA and Cré. Because the zipper is ‘Industrial’ compost certified only, this means the process may take longer than 26 weeks for this part of the pouch.

Why has the dose changed?

The pouch is designed to compost completely under normal home conditions in 26 weeks.  This may vary according to conditions in your compost heap, and the zip-lock may take a little longer.  Alternatively, the zipper can be cut off and composted in council-collected food waste.

Can I use the PHGG directly out of the pouch?

You can, but bear in mind that the pouch is designed to degrade once it comes into contact with moisture and oxygen.  PHGG in an open pouch will start to absorb moisture and may clump, so we recommend decanting this into an airtight container as soon as possible after opening. Please ensure your container is completely dry before refilling and ensure that it is labelled correctly.
