Microbiota and Thyroid

Thanks to the recent explosion in microbiota research, we are learning that the gut has an immense impact on every system of the body including thyroid health.

Description

Thanks to the recent explosion in microbiota research, we are learning that the gut has an immense impact on every system of the body. Understanding the causes of gut dysfunction and microbiotal imbalance is crucial for optimum patient outcomes. After healing the gut, many conditions improve, including hypothyroid, arthritis, pain, fatigue, weight gain, insomnia and IBS. But with the explosion in research also comes a misapplication of the findings in clinical practice. Which studies are relevant for patient care, which need further exploration, and which are simply not useful in creating an effective treatment model?
