In this webinar, strategies for using physical medicine, functional nutrition, and lifestyle medicine education to support recovery from vaginal or surgical birth through the first year postpartum will be discussed. Jessica will discuss common concerns, screening, and nutrition and supplementation to support recovery. The postnatal period is a time when women are at risk for HPA axis dysfunction, pelvic floor and core myofascial injuries, and triggering or exacerbation of autoimmune conditions including interstitial cystitis, and postpartum thyroidits. Often resuming sexual activity, work, and fitness activities can be painful and difficult. Jessica will take a holistic look at postpartum recovery in this webinar using her unique perspective as a pelvic floor specialist physical therapist and nutritionist trained with a functional medicine perspective.
